Botanical name of the oil is Lavendula latifolia. The oil is also known by the name Portugese lavender oil. The oil is obtained from water or steam distillation of the spike lavender flowering tops of spike lavender plant which grows to 30 to 80 centimeters tall. Spike lavender essential oil is having fresh, slightly spicy, floral and camphor like scent which is used in the fragrance industry and in making bathing products.
