Botanically known as Agothosma Betulina or Barosma Betulina the buchu oil is native to South Africa. The oil is yellow to brownish yellow color. Extraction of the oil takes place by steam distillation of stems and leaves of the shrubs. The oil not to be used during pregnancy mostly finds usage as flavouring for teas, candy and a liquor known as buchu brandy.

Cedarwood, frankincense, ginger, jasmine lavender, lemon, neroli, orange, palmarosa, patchouli, rosewood, sandalwood and ylang-ylang.
