Costus Root Essential Oil Botanical name of the oil is Sassuriea costus. Also known by the name Aplotaxis lappa, Costus Oil, Costus Root Essential Oil, Costus Root Absolute costus root essential oil is used as stimulant, insect repellent and too protect woolen clothes. Costus root oil is extracted using steam distillation of roots of the costus plant. The oil is mainly used in improving alertness and enhancing sleep in the human body.
