Spikenard Essential Oil Botanical name of the oil is Nardostachys jatamansi. Spikenard is called jatamansi, musk-root, balchar and tapaswani. The oil is obtained from rhizomes and roots of spikenard tree through steam distillation process. The oil provides uplifting aroma and promotes feelings of calmness and relaxation. Spikenard Essential oil is used in aromatherapy and meditation because of its grounding properties. The oil is also used in purifying skin.
